Privacy Policy

Overview
Doctor Pickleball (doctorpickleball.com) is an educational website written by Mark C. Engasser, MD. This policy describes the information this website handles. The site is deliberately simple: it publishes articles, and the only personal information it receives is what a visitor chooses to share through the optional comment form described below.
Information we do not collect
This website has no accounts or registrations, no newsletter or mailing list, and no paid services. We do not ask you for a phone number, postal address, or payment details.
Comments, Conversations & Ideas
The Comments, Conversations & Ideas page lets visitors send a comment, story, or suggestion privately to Dr. Engasser. Submitting a comment is entirely optional.
Collection. When you submit a comment, the form collects the name or nickname you type, your comment, and — only if you choose to provide them — a country or general location and an email address. Email addresses are optional and are never displayed publicly. Submissions cannot include attachments: visitors cannot upload photographs, medical records, or other files.
Storage and security. Submissions are delivered to and stored in Dr. Engasser's private message inbox on the site's hosting platform. They are not visible to other visitors. Basic spam protection — including a hidden field that automated programs tend to fill and a limit on how many messages one connection can send in a short period — helps keep automated submissions out.
Moderation and publication. Every submission is reviewed personally by Dr. Engasser, and nothing is published automatically. Email addresses are never published. The optional publication checkbox permits a comment to be considered for publication only; nothing is published unless Dr. Engasser first obtains the visitor's separate, explicit approval of the exact text to be displayed. You may decline, and declining has no effect other than that the comment stays private.
Use. Comments are read personally by Dr. Engasser for ideas, stories, and suggestions. They are not used for advertising, profiling, or market research. Submitters are never automatically subscribed to marketing emails, because this site has no marketing emails.
Retention and deletion. Submissions remain in Dr. Engasser's private inbox until he has reviewed them and resolves them, which removes them from his active review queue. Resolved conversations can be reopened; the inbox does not currently provide a separate permanent-delete control. The notification email sent when a comment arrives remains in Dr. Engasser's own mailbox until he deletes it. Because the site's hosting and messaging services are operated by outside providers, complete erasure from every provider system cannot be guaranteed; what this site can do is remove a submission from the active inbox. To request deletion of a submission, send a request through the Comments, Conversations & Ideas form. Include enough information to identify the original submission — the name or nickname you used and, where possible, the approximate date it was sent or a short quote from your comment. Additional verification may be requested before a submission is removed from the active inbox.
Service providers
This website is hosted, and its comment form is delivered, by outside service providers. Those providers may process information connected with a submission — such as the name, optional location and email address, comment text, and standard technical information — as needed to store, deliver, protect, and operate the service. Their handling of information is subject to their applicable privacy and security practices.
No advertising or tracking
This website carries no advertising, no affiliate links, and no sponsored content. It does not load third-party advertising or tracking scripts and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The site does not sell visitor information; outside service providers are described in the section above.
Automatic technical data and analytics
Like nearly all websites, the hosting platform processes standard technical information when your browser requests a page — for example your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of the request — in order to deliver pages, keep the site secure, and keep it running.
Once the site is published, its built-in analytics report aggregate statistics such as page views, traffic sources, and general device or browser categories. These statistics are totals, not individual profiles: they are not used to identify visitors, to build advertising profiles, or to follow you to other websites.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. Any technical storage involved in delivering the site is limited to what the hosting platform needs to serve pages securely.
External links
Articles on this site link to other websites — for example, the charitable organizations featured in Pickleball Strong Giving. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.
Children
This website is written for adult athletes and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
You decide what, if anything, to share. The comment form is entirely optional, the location and email fields within it are optional, and you control what you type. Checking the optional publication box permits consideration only; publication requires your separate, explicit approval of the exact text. You may also request deletion of a submission at any time through the form, as described above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page, with its last-updated date at the top.
